Architecture includes the restoration, rehabilitation, adaptive use or renovation of historic buildings and new construction projects. Our approach begins with research and programming of new functions and to meet current code requirements, followed by design, which incorporates creativity with technical knowledge, and finally, documentation.

We approach the preservation of sites and buildings as conservators of the built environment with the intent of maintaining as much historic fabric as possible and as architects who bring a broad base of experience with design, planning, preservation standards and regulations, materials science, environmental and sustainability issues.

QMc has worked with many museums and cultural institutions to integrate preservation with on-going functional improvements, code and ADA upgrades and expansion opportunities. We also have highly specialized experience integrating museums into historic buildings.
