Lawrence Farmstead Restoration
The restoration of the Lawrence Farmstead’s 1874-1882 residence and 1887 barn, and 1920s Range house was undertaken for the City of Mesquite as part of a phased restoration program.
The structures comprise the Opal Lawrence Historical Park and will illustrate the late 19th century agricultural heritage of the Mesquite area. The work has included historic research, physical investigation and condition assessments, planning work for interpretation and full architectural services for stabilization and restoration of the structures, as funding becomes available.
New electrical and mechanical systems were carefully integrated without damage to the decorative ceiling finishes and the historic integrity of these buildings.
